General InformationMeetingsGeneral meetings of the Society are at 10:00 am on the 4th Saturday of each month, except December, at the Johnson County Central Resource Library, 9875 W. 87th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66212. Visitors are always welcome. Programs are aimed at helping members progress with their individual genealogical research and feature speakers on a variety of related topics. Individual advice and help for beginners is available. The October meeting is generally set aside for a seminar featuring a nationally-known speaker. This meeting is held at a site other than the library. Directions to the Johnson County Central Resource Library: The Executive Board meets at 7:00 pm on the second Monday of each month at the library. Members are welcome. Society's Library CollectionThe J.C.G.S. genealogical library collection is maintained in the Local History and Genealogical area of the Johnson County Central Resource Library. Donations to the collection in the form of books, pamphlets, magazines, manuscripts, family histories, regimental histories, maps, atlases, school yearbooks, photographs, or any other documents of a genealogical or historical nature are welcome. Persons wishing to donate materials should contact the Society's Librarian. A link to the Johnson County Library is in the left-hand column of this page. Non-Profit StatusThe Society is a non-profit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Kansas. Society and Library VolunteersVolunteers are welcome to help with the Society's many programs or to assist the Johnson Country Central Resource Library in the genealogy section.
